Horse training can be and exciting and rewarding experience for both the horse trainer and the horse. However, there are many things that you can do which can make the horse training experience a nightmare.Like any career be sure that is really want you want to do before registering for horse training course, you must answer the following questions truthfully.

1. Is horse training your passion?

2. Have you participated in horse shows and watched horse races before?

3. Are you willing to gain new information about the kinds of horse feeds on the market, as well as the required dietary allowance for each type of horse?
4. Do you mind grooming horses every day?
5. What do you think if you are asked to talk to them? The reason for this is, studies have shown that horses obey more through human contact, especially the human voice.
6. Are you encouraging?

7. Can you be a leader?
8. Would you be able to put tacks or harnesses on the horse in order for them to be habitual to the tools?
9. Are you willing to ride the horses and to observe their behavior with each temperament when required?
10. Are you going to be calm when training them?

Why do you have to answer the ten basic questions? These questions are usually asked by horse training instructors to whoever that like to be around horses. It is important that horse trainer is there because he wants to because it can be very dangerous being around horses.

There are usually some expectations from each horse trainer when you choose horse training as a career because it is just like any other career. Mostly the owners would like the trainer they chosen to handle their beloved horses can stop from kicking, resisting grooming and bolting every time their reins aren’t secured.

You must know you job as a horse trainer even before you choose horse training as your career. Therefore when answering the ten questions, answer truthfully. As a horse trainer you are responsible to teach the riding, driving and racing techniques to the horse. If you can bestow the horse the knowledge, the plan training as well as the techniques, you are doing your job well as a horse trainer. The owners have the option to pay independent operators or have their horses put at a training school. Whatever their choice, horse trainers are in demand.

Finer breed of the horse are more expensive. Even the ordinary ones are expensive. Since it is a good investment there are some horse trainers who are knowledgeable about the mating of horses pair up a stallion to a mare, depending on the horse type, in order to come up with a good breed of foal.

Horse training as a career can be a good choice which will give you good returns but you must love what you are doing. That is the bottom line.

Horse training can be and exciting and rewarding experience for both the horse trainer and the horse.Does training horses take the joy out of riding? This question has been asked of me by different people in different ways, but the most recent interrogator hit me in the middle of a tough week and the question sat in my mind like a teenager playing X box. Not really doing anything but taking up valuable space and every time I wondered to that area of my brain, it looked up and mumbled something about a glass of water. So I decided it was time to get it off the couch and address the question so it could leave.

It may seem like a silly question especially to the young child dreaming of being a professional horse trainer. Yet, at some point in most training careers you will hit a batch of tough minded or horribly spoiled horses that will test you to the core. There has not been a horse yet that has come in for training that didn’t need training, but some need LOTS more than others and it is those horses that tend to make you question yourself and your motives.

Part of the issue is that many horse owners think that the trainer has a magic wand they can wave over the horse and not only make their horse the perfect trail mount in 30 days, but also make the horse stay that way no matter what they do to it. They place extreme expectations on not only the trainer, but also the horse. You see they have been successfully spoiling their horse and perfecting all it’s bad habits for years and now they think those same vices can be stopped, erased and reprogrammed in mere weeks. I never get tired of reminding people that it takes a human 2000 repetitions to stop a habit, 2000 repetitions to make a new habit and 10,000 correct repetitions to make a thought an unconscious behavior. So when the horse absent mindedly steps on your foot or knocks into your shoulder because he wants to look at something over his shoulder, he has disrespected your space a minimum of 10,000 times. Sobering thought.

Point being? When an unruly spoiled or tough minded horse comes in for training and the owner has the idea their horse just needs a little tune up expecting the trainer to fix their mistakes in weeks; it puts a huge burden on the trainer. The trainer may try to please the owner and find the horse not only refuses to work at that speed, but will start retaliating to the training with sometimes dangerous consequences to the trainer.

What you say does this have to do with a horse trainer enjoying riding? A bunch. When you spend a good portion of your day working with horses that could care less about you and what you are trying to teach them, you lose your desire to be around horses. It can also be very tiring mentally and physically on the trainer. I received very good advice from another trainer that I try to remember and practice when I have the time. He said, “Ride your own horses first when you are fresh and haven’t been arguing with unruly horses all day. You will far less likely to nit-pick them or get quick with them. So, if I have a group of tough horses in and I can’t get to mine first, mine get the day off.

So then the answer is thus: Yes, training can take the joy out of riding when the day is full of horses more interested in fighting with you then learning to work with you. It will drain the pleasure of riding right out of your veins like the X box draining the life out of that teenager. It can do wonders for the mind to take a day and enjoy your own horse, just do some relax loping or go on a trail ride. In time all the horses I have worked with start to understand I am trying to teach them and they begin to not only work with me, but try their best to please. This is when it becomes so rewarding to be a horse trainer.

In the field of horse racing, there are several race horses that are heroes that are known and loved throughout the United States. Man O’War is famous race horses, such as this horse are still known after their death. Man O’War died at the age of 30 from a heart failure. Even 50 years later, almost everybody has heard the name of the horse that won 20 of 21 starts and was the leading money winner in America at the time of his retirement after a 3 year campaign in horse racing. He studded Triple Crown winner War Admiral. Race horses with a movie can hardly top Seabiscuit, who became the focus of the movie by his name. It took 15 horses to play Seabiscuit and capture the various traits of his personality. A best-selling book translated to the big screen is true to the story, with a few details left out. The general public who has never seen horse racing definitely got a taste of the real thing and the movie got rave reviews. Seabiscuit was a horse who beat the odds during the Depression, and was named the US Champion Handicap Male in 1937 & 1938, and the US Horse of the Year in 1938.

The only undefeated Triple Crown Winner gained him the name as Thoroughbred Racing’s Greatest Champion of race horses. His contribution to the sport through his marvelous rise and times of adversity where he would emerge stronger on a comeback, made the public fall in love with this horse racing champion. People who were around him called him one of the most intelligent race horses they were ever around and it was like interacting with a human. Seattle Slew was known for his personality that had fire, energy and extreme mental focus and the champion race horse that loved to have his picture taken and loved when children came to see him.

Winning Colors horse racing hero was one of only three fillies to ever win the Kentucky Derby and was given the US Champion 3 year old Filly racing award in 1988. Voted for the 1988 Eclipse Award for Outstanding 3 year old Filly, this horse became hampered with health problems and was retired the following year. Winning Colors lived to be 23, and died in 2008, but her contribution as a female in a male’s world of horse racing, has made her a historical great, that became well known. Spectacular Bid champion race horse won 26 out of 30 horse races started, and took home almost 3 million dollars over his career, which was a then record sum. Making the cover of the Sports Illustrated Magazine, he won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and won 4 Eclipse Awards for Outstanding Male horse of the year in consecutive years of 1978, 1979 and 1980.

A good horse race betting strategy involves gathering all of the knowledge you can about a particular race. Many successful winning horse racing systems draw from information regarding the horses in a race. Do give preference to previous winners; choosing a horse that has won before is a common horse race betting strategy that often works. Do give preference to horses who have recently run in a race; their legs will be ready to compete. A horse that has not run for several weeks may have suffered a recent injury or sickness. It doesn’t matter how good they were before their break, chances are they will not be as good as a horse that has been running for a long period of time. Also, try to find out the weight of racing horses before betting; a five-pound advantage adds length.

While it is always great to pay attention to horses who have finished first, second, or third in their last four starts, you could also benefit from keeping an eye on a couple of potential sleepers. Any horse that has finished within two lengths of the winner is worth remembering for future betting. When you want to learn how to win at horse racing, do make it a habit to learn about the jockeys. A top-notch jockey has been known to turn an unreliable horse with high odds into a real gem. Do take notice to experienced jockeys who have a reputation of running a good long race, lasting more than a mile.

Smart horse race betting strategies are also improved when people understand the different types of wagers and terms involved. When you choose the number of the horse race winner, you have struck a win. Multiple wins are allowed within the same race. With place bets, if the number (horse) you select finishes first or second, you win. Horses that finish first, second, or third are called a show bet. Exactas and perfecta deal with two horses in the same race; your horses must finish first and second in order to win. Additional terms to familiarize yourself with includes quinella, trifecta, and a double.

Learning how to spot the better odds and weigh them against the horses in the race is a good way to strengthen a horse race betting strategy. Some of the most accurate resources to turn to when investigating the odds of a horse race include the know-how associated with sporting books and bookmakers. Usually, they possess a long line of experience, which comes in pretty handy when choosing winners and building a good horse race betting strategy. When you pay attention to the track conditions, you might be able to incorporate this information into your winning horse racing system. Tracks that are slow or heavy provide good racing conditions for fast starters. Horses that tend to take the lead early succeed better with muddy, slow, or heavy track conditions.

Making money betting on horse races is not quite impossible to achieve even though you are not on the field to watch it upstage, though it does work if you could become a professional on horse racing handicapping. And of course, you would want to mark a success in it as well. Perhaps, one of the causes is that there have been a lot of people who are trying to do the same way as well. In every day throughout the country or perhaps around the world, a lot of people have been doing hard and their very best just to make money on horse races through horse racing handicapping. Some take it only as a hobby while others take it gravely; hoping that they would earn quite huge money from it and the need for some tiring work would just be simply out away. No matter if it is a logical entertainment or an affair of financial survival; there have been individuals who are doing their works at handicapping.

There has been some various ways in order for you to become a professional at horse racing handicapping. Perhaps one of them is to study almost everything that you can about the different breeds of race horse and the business of racking. One of the ways which is quite uncomplicated and is more viable is to becoming a professional in a smaller field. It simply means that you only have to choose one race track or race event and observe as much as you can about the other people who bet on that particular horse races. Let’s say for example, you have five horse trainers which recurrently race their horses on the same race track and get to learn their moves then you would have a bigger chance to earn money at it through horse racing handicapping.

But even though it still might not be that easy to win through it, but the chances of winning is preferably high. Learning on it is not as easy as well since it took hours of study and observation and a note is quite necessary since you need to keep record of almost anything that happened on the race track. It might seem like an intimidating job at first and a lot of time could be all used up by just watching but as time goes by, the moment you’ve had it, then it would be a lot easier.

Perhaps you could get to make some studies about the horse trainers on your own and then start to figure them out by using a good technique of analysis to make it easier to understand which one should you be placing bets upon. If you would really want to achieve higher and get the success you’ve been wanting, then all it takes it a lot of work and work and work and of course, a technique of horse racing handicapping as well.

Shopping for that perfect present for someone who just adores horses can be a challenge. Finding the right child’s gift may include something as simple as the gift of riding lessons. Search your community tack store for local listings, call and ask for references. Meet the trainer at his or her training facility and watch a lesson. See how they respond to the horse and person they are giving the lesson to. You don’t want someone who has no interest or patience with your child and horse. They must give their undivided attention to the student at all times! You may even go to a horse show and watch the trainers students perform, go behind the scene hang out at the stall where the horses are being kept and observe.

Many personality impressions can be an eye opener. A good trainer should start the beginner at ground level meaning safety first. Teaching a child how to safely groom, tack, and act around a standing horse is the best way to start. Another great gift to go along with this is a helmet. Even when a child is just doing ground work with a horse like brushing, hoof picking, grooming etc. a helmet can be a good safety precaution. The horse tack also must be the correct type according to the kind of riding a person desires to do either English and or western. Some horse only can be ridden English and some do both ways.

Remember good riding skills don’t happen overnight, be patient and you will grow to be a perfect rider. Be sure to purchase a horse according to which ever type of riding you plan to do. Don’t buy any horse without a qualified veterinarian check, this can save you money in the long run. Horse insurance is always advised as well. Tack accessories, saddles, pads, horse blankets, bridles, bits, riding attire, boots, jewelry, collectibles, fine art, books, training videos, are all good gift ideas as well for both children and adults. Of course a horse would also make the ultimate perfect present for anyone.

There have always been some questions surrounding the legitimacy of any gambling activity. From lotto to roulette to horse racing, there is always that shred of doubt that makes a number of suspicious results are really true. But let me tell you why it’s difficult to fix a race.

To start with, horse racing is one of the more closely monitored betting events in the country, and the opportunities of it being rigged are quite far from reality. In addition, it is also governed by their own Jockey Clubs who have their own set of rules. They even have their own stewards who act as the police force of their own ranks. Anything that deviates from what is considered normal is immediately investigated. If other race owners have objections as to the certainty of a particular outcome, they can immediately report it to their own authorities who will conduct an investigation into the matter.
